Judges announced as deadline approaches for PACKWINE Design Awards

The task of deciding the winners of the 2021 PACKWINE Design Awards will fall to four judges with extensive wine industry insights and experience.

To assess the entries will be judges Nerida Kelton MAIP, Executive Director of the Australian Institute of Packaging; Dr Armando Maria Corsi, Associate Professor in Wine Business at The University of Adelaide; Dr Larry Lockshin, Professor of Wine Marketing at the University of South Australia; and Damian Hamilton, Brand Keeper and Designer at Cornershop Design.

The Awards are part of the 2021 PACKWINE Forum & Expo, which, in its inaugural year, will be a print and digital event featuring expert industry speakers and a trade exhibition to showcase state-of-the-art packaging products and services.

The theme of PACKWINE in 2021 will be Adapting Wine Packaging to the 21st Century: Sustainability and Innovation.

The PACKWINE Design Awards will be judged on the criteria of initial impact, target market effectiveness and overall aesthetic, and will cover six categories:

  • Best Classic Format Package Design
  • Best Alternative Format Package Design
  • Best Luxury Package Design
  • Best Package Redesign
  • Best Package Series Design
  • Best Presentation & Gift Pack Design

A special People’s Choice award will be another highlight of this unique and exciting event.

Shortlisted entries will be revealed in a special feature in the May issue of the Australian & New Zealand Grapegrower & Winemaker magazine.

Winners will be announced at the PACKWINE Forum on 24 May 2021, and will also be published in the June issue of Grapegrower & Winemaker and online at www.packwine.com.au.
