Dewey Station Wines – Glow Up Series

3 Wines with portraits that interact – to be lined up Venus Express GSM, Off the Beaten Track Graciano and then Mars Express Shiraz.

Entry Introduction
Dewey Station Wines and Dreamjar Studios worked together on this to create the portrait 'Glow Up' series. This series was introduced to 3 of the red wines that already already have exisiting labels. These wines now run dual labels to access different layers of the market. The original drafts were put together by Dewey Station Wines and then sent to the masters at Dreamjar to be refined and brought to life
Design Challenges
Creating a series that was still unique and quirky but would also be at home in a 5 star establishment Creating labels that linked together as a collection Creating labels that were appealing but still had an origin.
Design Solution
Using colour gradients to add colour so it is not too intrusive. Highlighting these gradients with high build, gold foiling and UV coating. Playing with the orientation of the portraits so that there is a sense of interaction between the three Originally we were basing the portraits on Roman Gods/Goddess busts (to relate to the Roman God/Goddess Mars and Venus) however, we found that the images came across a bit old fashioned and not in-keeping with the fresh and young brand we have created. By basing the busts on Modern Day Australians we were able to create the approachable and familiar aesthetic that we were chasing. By incorporating the planets Mars and Venus, we were still able to incorporate the names Mars and Venus and create a dreamy, mystic feeling in the process.
Design Impact
Three wines that are part of a 'collection'. That are oozing sophistication and class without being boring or loosing the Dewey Station quirk that is the core of our brand.
