Judges announced for PACKWINE Design Awards

The task of deciding the winners of the 2022 PACKWINE Design Awards will fall to three judges with extensive wine industry insights and experience.

To assess the entries will be judgesNerida Kelton MAIP, Executive Director of the Australian Institute of Packaging; Paul Baggio, Managing Director of Della Toffola Pacific and Bertolaso Australia; and Nina Chalmers, Creative Director at CoLLECT Design.

The Awards are part of the 2021 PACKWINE Forum & Expo, which, in its inaugural year, will be a print and digital event featuring expert industry speakers and a trade exhibition to showcase state-of-the-art packaging products The Awards are part of the 2022 PACKWINE Forum & Expo, which, will be a print and digital event featuring expert industry speakers and an expo hall to showcase state-of-the-art packaging products and services.

The theme of PACKWINE in 2022 will be ‘What does it take to make a change – why is there resistance to change?’

The PACKWINE Design Awards will be judged on the criteria of initial impact, target market effectiveness and overall aesthetic, and will cover six categories:

  • Bertolaso Best Luxury Package Design
  • Best Classic Format Package Design
  • Best Package Series Design
  • Best Package Redesign
  • Best Alternative Format Package Design
  • Best Presentation & Gift Set Design

A special People’s Choice award – sponsored by the National Wine Centre of Australia – will be another highlight of this unique and exciting event.

Winners will be announced at the PACKWINE Forum on 27 September 2022, and will also be published in the September issue of Grapegrower & Winemaker and online at www.packwine.com.au.
