Are you on track to meet the 2025 National Packaging Targets?

Packaging! Sometimes there can be too much, sometimes there can be too little… but how do you get the balance of product versus packaging just right?

Ralph Moyle from the Australian Institute of Packaging talks about achieving ‘the Goldilocks spot’ as he presents some all-important guidance for wineries to make their packaging more sustainable as the deadline for Australia’s Packaging Targets looms.

In his video presentation for the 2021 PACKWINE Forum, Ralph discusses what sustainable packaging looks like for the wine industry, including primary, secondary and tertiary packs. His webinar will also guide wine businesses through the 2025 National Packaging Targets and operators’ responsibilities to minimise their packaging wherever possible within their supply chain. The targets are:

  • 100% reusable, recyclable or compostable packaging.
  • 70% of plastic packaging being recycled or composted.
  • 50% of average recycled content included in packaging (revised from 30% in 2020).
  • The phase out of problematic and unnecessary single-use plastics packaging.

Ralph also provides best practice examples of sustainable packaging and some tips that winemakers can implement into their business.
